Privacy notice
Last updated 7 October 2026
This notice explains what personal data mentor.davisjenson.com (“the site”) collects, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and what you can do about it. The site is run by the individual who operates this site (India), who decides why and how your data is used (the “data fiduciary” under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact for anything in this notice: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
| Data | Who | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash) | People who create an account | To log you in and keep your conversations | Until you delete your account |
| Your questions, filters and the answers shown | Everyone who asks | To answer you; to continue a conversation; to check and improve the service (administrators can read them) | Question log: 90 days. Your own saved chats: until you delete them or your account. Public-page chats: 90 days |
| A salted hash of your IP address (not the address itself) | Visitors using the public page | To limit how many questions one visitor can ask an hour, and to stop abuse | 90 days, with the question log |
| A random visitor identifier in a cookie | Public-page visitors who accept cookies | To let you continue your conversations on this device | 90 days, or until you delete your conversations |
| Thumbs up / down feedback | Anyone who clicks it | To improve answers | 90 days, with the question log |
| Server logs (IP address, time, page requested) | Everyone | Security and fixing faults | A short rolling period set by the hosting provider |
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, we do not sell personal data, and we do not profile you.
The public question list is public
Questions asked on the public page are listed on the page for everyone to see (the latest 100, newest first), with the answer. We remove e-mail addresses, web links, phone numbers and ID-like numbers from the question before it is listed, but we cannot catch everything. Do not put names, company details or anything confidential in a question. Questions you ask while logged in are not listed. You can delete your public conversations at any time (see “Your rights”), and we can hide a listed question if you ask us.
Who else receives your data
To answer a question we send it (and the text of the retrieved reports) to these services, which process it for us, mostly in the United States:
- NVIDIA (the AI model that writes the answer). Tavily (web search on approved safety websites, and for pictures); it receives the search words made from your question, not your account or IP address.
- Amazon Web Services (servers, database and picture storage, United States East). Cloudflare (DNS, HTTPS and security; it sees your IP address as it passes traffic).
- Websites that show pictures. Some pictures on answers are loaded straight from the website that publishes them (approved safety websites, and sometimes other websites). Your browser contacts that site, so it can see your IP address. We never store those pictures.
Your data is therefore processed outside India. The Act allows this except in countries the Government of India restricts; we will stop using a provider if it becomes restricted.
Your rights
Under the Act you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
- correct or complete it, and erase it;
- handle a complaint (grievance), and nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or cannot act.
Account holders can download their data and delete their account under “My account” in the chat. Deleting removes the account and its chats at once and replaces your question text in the administrators' log. Public-page visitors can choose “Delete my conversations” on the page, which deletes them, removes your questions from the public list, and clears the cookie. For anything else, write to [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operating.
Consent and withdrawing it
We ask for your consent for the optional cookie (see the cookie notice). You can withdraw it at any time from “Cookie settings” at the foot of the page; withdrawing is as easy as giving it. Asking a question is you asking us to process it, which we need in order to answer you.
Children
The site is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has used it, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, provider keys are encrypted, and the database is private. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
We will update this notice when what we do changes, and show the date at the top.
